Happy Birthday from someone who almost didn't make it through his own last year. On my birthday, I was at death's door with a VL of 500,000 and CD-4 count of 008. Keeping it all in perspective, I am blessed to be looking at another birthday next month. Don't sell yourself short, you are here for a reason!

It's hard sometimes to wrap our brains around this disease and the meaning of life. I had never planned on this journey either but it is what it is...ya know? I am making the best of it and I'll be damned if I am going to be derailed by some virus that is fragile as hell and is on the way to being BEAT!

Hang in there!!!

Happy Birthday! ;D

I was in the hospital and nearly died from AIDS on my 34th birthday and yet again on my 36th birthday - so every year when my birthday rolls around and I'm not in a hospital and I'm still alive, instead of being "concerned" about getting older, I'm ecstatic that I'm even having a birthday. ;D I mean the alternative of not having a bday and not growing older isn't really much fun. ::) I just celebrated my 49th birthday last month which I never thought I'd see and I'm pretty excited about making it around to next March to see the big 5-oh.

of course, if you're not happy with where you are in your life, you already know the solution - get out there and do what you need to do to make it what you want it to be. ;) Good heavens you're only 40 :D, there's plenty of time to turn things around.

Happy birthday (in half an hour) and good luck this year changing your life to be what you want it to be. ;)

Happy Birthday!  I know how you feel, I just turned 40 two years ago.    While I have not been able to fully accept turning 40,  getting a stronger prescription in my glasses today proves my eyes are adjusting well to it.  You're right though, it could be worse and this is what I keep telling myself.   Being born my sister's kid would be worse for example.... when I need proof I just look at his picture.

Didn't you get the memo? 40 is the new 30. And I keep telling myself that 50 is the new 40 - I'll be turning 50 in eighteen months.

Happy birthday!

Cheer up dear, 40 is when everything really starts to make sense, and @ 50 things get even better, you'll find that you no longer have time for a lot of bullshit, that you worried about when you were younger  ;)

Happy Birthday, and I hope you have many, many more to come  ;)

You can't change the number, so there's no use fretting about it.  If turning 40 causes you to evaluate a few things in your life, and make some changes for the better. then that's a good thing.

Happy Birthday!

mmmm cake! Yes, I'm certain that bday cake makes changing things around in your life even easier (I read that on the internet, so it's got to be true!) so you really do need to have some bday cake! ;D

Gio, I hope you had a great birthday and had your cock cake and ate it too.

And I absolutely cannot believe that not one of you queens men thought of that joke before me. I've been waiting since I first posted earlier today.

Yeah, so maybe it's just me with the sick odd sense of humour.

:P
