No Red Ribbon? Google is not my friend.

Really? no Red Ribbon on their homepage? Don't they usually honor occasions by creating some cool artwork in their name? This morning they have a schoolbus.

At least AolNews has a small red ribbon on their homepage.

And in browsing the big 3 news websites, MSNBC was the only one to have a story about WAD on the front page (albeit small). CNN- nothing, Fox - Nothing (although I didnt expect Fox to do much).

-hmmph.

This morning they have a schoolbus.
that bus is all about remembering the 55th anniversary of Rosa Parks not giving up her seat. Hmmm, although it wasn't a school bus with multi-racial kids that she was riding on. ::)

boo, hiss to google. >:( while remembering Rosa Parks is a nice thing, HIV/AIDS is still affecting - and killing - millions of people around the world. But I guess taking one day to think about a global epidemic isn't as important as remembering the actions of one lady 55 (not 20, 25, 50, 75, or 100, but the odd-yr anniversary of 55) years ago.

Tonight my ASO is sponsoring their annual World AIDS Day program at the local university like they've done for the last 10 years. However, we had to adjust our time (and nearly the day!) because of a Kwanzaa event. Oh I understand that the kids won't be in classes during the week of Kwanzaa (dec 26 - jan 1); but you mean they couldn't have scheduled their event for later in the month, or at least something like Dec 2 or 3 just as easily? Ah well, we complained and fought back a bit and the kwanzaa event was moved forward an hour and our event was moved back an hour, so that the students will be able to attend both events. At least our event was the one that got "cultural event credit" and that'll help ensure that some people make the crossover between events.

Hey, if anyone is in town tonight (Rock Hill SC), our event (the 2010 WAD Video Competition Event) is at 8:15p in the new DiGiorgio Theater at Winthrop University. (http://www.youtube.com/catawbacare)
