Living With HIV / Re: "HOPE DIES LAST"
« Last post by Tonny2 on Today at 05:12:13 pm »

ojo.              Hello everyone!… Well, I saw the ID doctor last week and as usual, tells me that if not were for my neuropathy pain and my vision problems, I would be healthier. He also said that there is nothing else in his toolbox to use to help, but my treatment is still kicking because,, since January 2007, I’ve been taking the same treatment and is still working. Soldiers between 700–800, I forgot my percentage and as I said, still undetectable. I can’t complain because even though my pain and blindness, I’m still alive and on here sharing with all of you my story of Survival… After all, there is life after an HIV diagnosis specially nowadays…

I also, yesterday, saw the Corne specialist and My Kia is stable, also we can’t do anything else for it but at least it’s stable, here replace a special contact lens that I’ve been wearing since November 2010 after my stem cell surgery. Also, he check my blind eye. and he says that everything looks fine. The 28th of this month I will see the surgeon and he would be the one who will decide when I will become. They won million men, when to get my bionic eye. Seriously, it is just a contact lens, plastic one, with the iris and pupil painted to make it look like a real eye. It would be nice that there was such a thing as a bionic eye… I will keep you guys posted… Hugs.

Ps. sorry for the typos

Thanks for the answer. The reason of my question was because I have seen on tv here in Brazil some rare  cases of people get sticked by needles in public spaces. Like you said, i am not in risk for hiv . i am in peace now. Thanks again.

Hiya.

Read your post three times, including the "what ifs" with great care.

You didn't have any HIV risk from this situation, move on with your life. Please don't post about this again, thank you.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV and get vaccinated against HPV, Hepatitis A & B.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

Do I Have HIV? / Just worried about a possible needle contact

At first this forum is excellent way to talk about hiv. Here is my question. I am a Brazilian gay man with 39 years. Let me ask you a question to see if it's only me freaking out. There was a day I went to a samba at night in Rio. It was in the Pedra do Sal samba. A famous local place in the city of Rio de Janeiro.  It was already 00:00 lately at night. Funk, a Brazilian music,  was playing in the street. I tried to cross from one side to the other side of the street to leave. It was actually very full. I felt something on my back like burning. But I saw there was a guy behind smoking. Not sure 100% because it was full of people in the street. I was more worried about the safety of  my cell phone.  I came home and saw that there was actually a small hole on my tshirt. I didn't see any blood on the blouse. Just this hole. How crazy! It occurred to me that this could be someone sticking me with a contaminated needle. But it was 00:00. Who would do that? Crazy thought? If it was even a needle injured, is it possible to contract hiv under these circumstances that I am talking here? I decided not take pep cause it sounded not real for me. I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks for all.

You're welcome.

Although oral sex is a theorical risk, so far no one has ever been infected that way. Enzymes in salvia interrupt HIV from infecting. And as far as blood transmission, you really need in have it injected into you, or both people bleeding into each other's gaping wounds (like after a car accident) to be infected.

You didn't need PEP, but non-HIV doctors and hospital doctors who don't see much HIV in a community will often over-react. ;)

Thank you. I figured as much but the doctor I spoke to still gave me pep because of the small cut I explained even tho he didn't cum. Which is what made me worry. Maybe she did it is calm me, idk but thank you regardless

yes, this is the wrong section. you should have posted in "Am I Infected?" category. but don't worry we'll get it moved.

As to your situation, HIV is transmitted through unprotected anal or vaginal sex or by sharing injection needles. Clearly you did neither, so you had no risk for HIV.

Have a great day,
Michael

Reducing Your HIV risks:
With no exceptions, use condoms correctly and consistently for anal or vaginal intercourse
Talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP as another layer of protection

Get tested yearly for HIV and other STIs.
If you don’t use condoms and/or PrEP, test more frequently

Some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other more easily acquired STIs. It is possible to show no signs or symptoms from an STI so testing is the only way to know.

Get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

What’s the ONLY way to know if you’ve been infected by HIV or an STI?
Get tested.

Do I Have HIV? / Worried...?
« Last post by Randomgrl on Yesterday at 06:47:15 pm »
Well, I'll try to explain everything I can here and not waste my 3 posts

I'm a female, one night (may 10th few days ago) I got drunk at the bar and did some coke too, went home with the bartender and some of his friends and partied a little more as aforementioned. One of the bartenders friends was there at the house and eventually me and him kissed some and I gave him oral. I feel like a lot of it was sucking his soft dick though lol. He was drunk and coked up too so he wasn't very erect, if at all. I was messed up but I know he didn't fully cum. Perhaps pre cum I'm unsure. I had one bite mark/slice in the inside of my cheek because coke makes you clench and bite your jaws I believe. I don't recall any bleeding but idk. I also don't know if I had it during oral or not but it's in the back by my wisdom teeth.

If he didn't fully ejaculate, and we didn't have any intercourse, do you think I'm okay regardless or the bite mark and his unknown status? I am aware of other stds of the throat. Was PEP needed?

Thank you

Edit: mods I posted this in the wrong section I apologize I don't know if you can move it
