Hiv infection from the garbages
« en: Enero 14, 2024, 12:39:16 pm »
Hello.I need to have some knowledge about this question.A week ago I collected some garbages in my home (clothes, toys, medicine boxes, book papers, torn photos etc) and throw them into my street dustbin. Some hours later  (İdont know exactly when) paper collectors ör some other people took some of them from the dustbin and delivered them casually around the dustbin.I saw them and had to collect and throw them again into the dustbin three hours later. And some of them were wet because of the rain.Everything happened so quickly and couldnt find and use gloves while collecting and touching the garbages. And I had a little hurt in my finger which happened two and a half days ago.Can I be infected with hiv because of collecting and touching garbages with a little hurt in my finger?

You had no risk for HIV.

HIV is transmitted by unprotected anal/vaginal sex or by sharing injection needles.

Have a great day,
Michael

Reducing Your HIV risks:
With no exceptions, use condoms correctly and consistently for anal or vaginal intercourse
Talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP as another layer of protection

Get tested yearly for HIV and other STIs.
If you don’t use condoms and/or PrEP, test more frequently

Some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other more easily acquired STIs. It is possible to show no signs or symptoms from an STI so testing is the only way to know.

Get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

What’s the ONLY way to know if you’ve been infected by HIV or an STI?
Get tested.

The wound on your finger isn't a route, and whatever fluids you came into contact with did not contain viable HIV; this whole scenario of yours lacks any of the conditions needed to get HIV.

There is no point in asking us the same questions again.

It's not an HIV risk. You took the trash out, get over it and move on with your life.
Please don't post about this again.

The reason you can't post is because you have used up your three free posts.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Before you consider a subscription be aware that your adult HIV risks are:

* Sex; Condomless intercourse & a minute (theoretical) HIV risk if you give a blowjob.
* Sharing drugs rigs (Syringes)
* Blood products/ transfusions (Rare nowadays in most nations thanks to screening)

Day-to-day contact with objects or non-sexual contact with people isn't an HIV risk.
