So.....I failed.
« on: September 11, 2020, 07:36:53 am »
Basically I did not get accepted to university. The application process was short and my application papers were denied because the courier company didn't deliver them earlier.
I feel all kinds of sad,but the Greek government didn't even bother to make an exception or extend the application process......

Actually I called them to see if I can get a plea for help. Now I'll have to call them again Monday and maybe they might help me.
Hopefully it works.....

Think good thoughts.  Be kind and good things will happen.

Just awful when you did all your steps but someone else caused you issues.

That's not failure

Setback, obstacle, challenge... sure, all that

Took me three years to pull my shit together enough to start school. Then any old excuse to do the minimum semester hours.

Success on a longer timeline is still success. A wise man around here used to often say life is a marathon, not a sprint.

Any update on how this worked out?

As others have pointed out it's only a temporary setback, not a fail. ;) You can prepare and reapply next year.

Just a thought to consider.

here in the states granted this was thirty years ago . I had taken community college courses that where transferable to  university credits.  In this way when I did get accepted a few years  later I had already had some of the work done .

so now I would suggest taking some online credit courses . contacting the school before taking a class Just make sure they are from a school that university will let you transfer.

this might give a boost to the your admissions to demonstrate how serious your intent  to study . again i Have no idea how the university where you are from works but thought this might be helpful.

The university might be trying any excuse to limit the amount of students on campus during covid 19 .   if you take some classes online you will have some of the work already done .

it is not a fail just a set back. resubmit and keep the goal of getting in .  with the time you have get ready for when you do get in and have some of the work already done . like core curriculum classes .

does the university offer online studies . the universities here where I am from anyone can take online classes . that later if they want to attend the school they have already taken .

sorry you may have  already given this some thought and it might be obvious to some . but others in similar situations like your self might not have thought of taking classes outside school and later transferring them .

all the best to you

Unfortunately Em,in Greece the only way to enter university is through the said process, especially if you finished Greek high school (lycieum).
That being said, the school system (being public) has problems like the failure to put a public anouncment on the official exam site. Not only that, but last year they had given a month to apply and this year it was only 4 days.
I am not giving up though,I do still have another year and I'm not gonna let it go to waste.
