Cant take this anymore!! Help please

Cant take this anymore!

Please bear with me its gonna be long.
Im 32 years old female living in the middle east, so as you may imagine having hiv here is a death sentence.
I was married and had only two sexual partner my whole life till the past 6 months. I moved to dubai and met a guy, had unprotected sex around 6-8 times during april. I regret this to the very coreee of me. I was very uneducated on hiv and thus the importance of protected sex. Im trying to my very best to remember if i had a fever right after bur i cant. What triggered my search is having a very unusual discomfort in my vaginal area. Visited a Obgyn and after running tests i had a very bad yeast infection, vaginosis. I was put on meds and was supposed to get better. When i didnt get better she ran a full std panel except hiv (cause hiv tests should be reported to government and if its positive one gets deported right away), my tests cane and i had ureaplasma. I got antibiotics for that too and went for a check up she told me everything is fine, ran cure tests and all looked fine. I told her i still feel discomfort and she told me she sees there is what looks like a couple of warts but these are nothing to be scared of since i did a pap smear and it was fine, till this day i still feel discomfort from what seems to be warts. I was put on probably 4 different antibiotics. Since then i started searching and hiv popped. And after that i started getting very random symptoms, sore throat for a couple of days that go away on its own. Skin breaking out in pimples (usually have perfect skin) , a white-ish tongue (not sure what color it was before), hair follicles on breast seem bigger, cold sores in mouth. I know these all might be stress but i CANNOT deal with this anymore. I cant take the test here and even back home (jordan), if i try to mention it i will be so shamed and my family will disown me. With the covid situation its so hard to travel and take the test somewhere. Please help. Am i just paranoid?? I asked the guy and he said he’s clean, dubai is very strict on hiv and i dont know if he might have caught it and not know. Please tell me what to do. Its probably stress killing me more than anything else

Hiya,

Firstly sorry to hear you have been unwell and that you have been stressing about HIV.

I do hope you feel better soon. Now nothing you mentioned is HIV specific and some of it unrelated regardless of your HIV status.

Understand that you have had multiple risks from your previous partner and more recently this person in Dubai.

The only way to know your HIV status is to test. I appreciate that you might not be able to test at the moment ,however, it's the only way to know your HIV status. When you can next test for HIV you should also test for far easier to acquire STI's.

I asked the guy and he said he’s clean

Nothing the guy claims would be relevant, even if he had tested the same day as your encounter it would mean nothing due to the window period on tests

Quote or not can you please leave the term "clean" for HIV negative out of your posting. Living with HIV does not somehow make people dirty, I wash daily and I am clean, I presume the majority of the members here also wash and have decent personal hygiene.

Here's what you need to know to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

Kind regards

Jim

Thank you very much for replying. One question, is it possible to have the flu like Symptoms 3 days after exposure? Sore throat, fever and fatigue? Ive been trying to rub my brain for so long and im not sure of the day i got the flu bit it was probably was 2/3 days after exposure.

One strange symptom i forgot to mention is body itching and some sort of pins and needles, i read that alot of hiv positive people get these

And one more thing, the guy never came inside and always pulled our before, would that make the chances of contracting lower?

It takes the better part of a week for HIV infection to take hold let alone for the immune system to produce symptoms if any. 2/3 days has nothing to do with HIV from that possible exposure.

Neuropathy in HIV is mostly after years of living untreated with HIV or some of the now outdated treatments. It's common for plenty of other common conditions and again something you should be working on with you doctor.

Look it was a risk, a real world risk and you had relations before this that I presume would include risks.

The only way to know HIV status is by testing.
