Blood transfusions
« on: June 28, 2020, 01:09:31 pm »
Hi, as I mentioned in other threads I have AIDS, 5 CD5 diagnosis, 75 this February(will get new blood work next week). Health has improved but still always from where I want to be.

I was doing research about using blood transfusions to increase CD4, not much came up.
I read this article: https://gawker.com/5981769/can-blood-transfusions-cure-hiv

It was no help. Said no, you can’t cure the virus with blood transfusions. Well couldn’t I get some more CD4 cells though? My virus count is undetectable. The virus isn’t taking a toll on me, it’s the lack of CD4. Last year I was hospitalized at 25 CD4 count and was very frail. In retrospect, I wonder why wasn’t blood transfusions offered? I realize it doesn’t cure the virus, but just like lance armstrong “blood doping”, obviously it could replenish my cells.

So what gives? Why isn’t this a therapeutic treatment option for AIDS patients? I just want some fresh blood with high CD4 counts(lol I sound like a vampire). But for real though, seems like it would help me out a lot. I don’t need a cure, I need a boost.

In over 35 years of being positive I've never heard of cd cell transfusions.

I wouldn't consent to pumping a foreign immune system into my body.
