Banned
« on: January 01, 2020, 11:06:01 am »
Hi, i experienced something strange, i tried to look art the forum without loggin in on chrome and got a message i was banned for creating a new account whilst on a time out. I dont recall seeing the time out neither i do recall loggin in for more than at least a year or so. Then on another browser i could see the forum. And after claering cookies in chrome i could see the forum and could login with my username mopier.
Strange thing. Was there a mistake or something. And how does banning work actually, i presume on at least on Ip adress.
I have the fear now of doing something and blacked out or something

If you were going to be banned you would have violated one or multiple rules normally following a warning and it wouldn't be resolved by clearing cookies.

I checked your account has no ban currently and no errors were recorded in the sites log against your account details.

No, that's not how the ban works.

I've checked there is no ban on your account, neither is there any log of an error related to your account details.

Best, Jim

Ok Jim last question, You say that clearin cookies couldn’t stop a ban.
Is a  permanent ban already effectieve/vissable when you visit a forum (without login in)? Or when you try to login because i saw the message before login when i tried to go to the forum?
It remains strange then the message disapeard after i cleaned the cookies and that it was not at all visable at first at another browser,
Could it be different if i have a second account, which i believe have but dont remember that username, was a while ago.
I thank you for your patience and replies
Groet Marcel

Marcel

Stop digging, it's not strange you have a second account that has been banned on name & email address hence when you cleared the cookies and logged in with this account it was fine, this is the only explanation and if I put in the effort to dig out more details to confirm this I would ban your current account, all the IP ranges and report them if needed for being a pain to the ISP.

Trust it's clear why I'm telling you to stop digging, I should ban you already just for admitting to the 2nd account

Consider it the first & last warning

Jim
