peter68 introduction thread - Symtuza to Delstrigo
« on: November 22, 2019, 03:44:58 pm »
Hi,

My doctor will switch me from Symtuza to Delstrigo because Symtuza contraindicates with many other meds. In my case finding suitable blood pressure medication has been pretty challenging.

With Symtuza I havenít had any side effects, so what to expect with Delstrigo ? Docs say that itís well tolerated and keep viral low down very effective.

Since I started ART, my viral load has been undetectable even meds have been changed due sides.

Would be great to hear what kind of experiences have you had with Delstrigo.

Hiya,

Welcome to the forum, hope you are feeling alright and the BP is under control. I take BP meds myself.

So switching to Delstrigo (Doravirine/lamivudine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate)

One of the components of this drug does not suit me at all, could tell you stories that give you nightmares, the thing is hundreds of thousands if not millions of people have taken or continue to take that same component with no issues whatsoever.

So why start expecting issue at all, simply switch and see how things go. If it's not your cup of tea there are other combinations ...

Take it easy.

Best, Jim

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your reply. Actually there are not many options available any more for the resistance reasons and because other meds used before have either not worked or have caused side effects which I havenít been able to tolerate.

I hope Delstrigo will work and I could continue with it also in the future.

With hugs,

Pekka

You're welcome.

I'm presuming you're not on salvage or resistance therapy route just yet anyhow switch and see how things go.

Best, Jim

Hi,

So first week behind with Delstrigo and it seems to work really well. I am getting rid off the foggy and tired feeling after Symtuza, my stomach is back to normal and the rash in my face and body is almost gone. Feels that I am getting my life back again. Next week are the first labs and will see how things are then.

Pekka
