Triumeq to Dovato???
« on: September 11, 2019, 10:11:30 pm »
Had my wow - 4 year appt about a week ago!! .....Dr mentioned that since Im doing so well, would i consider going from Triumeq to Dovato.

if you have followed my story you know i hate change, took me a quite some time to mentally get that 1st pill even in my hand....now she wants me to switch!?!?!  She didnt pressure but just said going from 3 meds in the Triumeq to 2 meds in Dovato would be helpful as i age (im only 47) and since I am stable its an option.

Thoughts?

Hiya

Well it's the combination of dolutegravir/lamivudine so that's two drugs that you are already taking and should be used to by now.  Ultimately switching is a choice and totally up-to you.

Best, Jim

Hi PittGurl, so glad to hear you are doing so well.

Wow the possibility of going two-drug your doctor must be so impressed with how you are doing.  Of course it's entirely up to you what you do.

Let us know how everything else is going!  :)

Thank you! Eh going ok - end of another relationship which sucks after we moved in together. He had commitment issues and couldnt really understand what it means to be a parent (he never had kids). Even though alot of red flags it still hurts..3 years :(  I hate the thought of telling my "story" to yet one more person. I tried POF and Match and there are so many creepers on there. Just want ONE good guy!!!  Grrrr ....but thanks for asking HarleyMC :)  How are you?

Hi, PittGirl!
How's it going on Dovoto? I'm on Trimeq and you post to my question about my sleep and alcohol reactions to the med. Curious, about going to a two-drug medication from a three-drug. I want to ask my doc about my reactions to Trimeq and see if he has any options for me. Looking to hear back from you before my appointment next month. Thank you.

Hey Shavedtail - i didnt make the decision to switch yet. Im still researching and getting comfortable in my own brain with doing it. I made an appt for Nov to discuss it with the dr and most likely do it then.  I'll be sure to keep the thread up to date though. I guess its shoudnt be too bad since im already of 2 of the meds and just dropping one. That should be easy .....but ya know how our minds are...well at least mine!

Hey, PittGurl. I've been researching Dovato, it seems to have fewer side effects than Trimeq. So I have an appt with my Doctor in November and I'm going to discuss a change to Dovato. I like that its two meds instead of three and the two we're already on. It should be an easy change. I'll update this thread to share with you and others.
