Propalyxis running low - traveling
« on: August 05, 2019, 04:33:07 am »
Iím away traveling for 2 more weeks. My propalyxis antibiotic aquotone is running low and Iíve only enough liquid in the bottle for 5-7 days max.
Not sure to take it daily or take it every 2nd day to make it last?
My CD4 was 137 a few months ago so still need to take it.
In the past ID doc changed the antibiotic twice and I with 4-5 days between, doc was not worried I was off it for a few days and Iíd less than 50 CD4 then.
Any advice?

Hope you are traveling somewhere nice  :)

On the meds, you can't ask for an additional refill before traveling?

Oh right ...

Well if it was me I would not be rationing antibiotics, I would take them as normal until running out and, when getting home starting again (after consulting the doc) as soon as possible.

Hi Loa!

How is it to travel abroad with HIV medication? Do they ask you what it is for? Do you need a doctor's note?

Enjoy your vacay!

What prevents you from going to a local doctor and getting a script filled at a chemist even assuming that the medication needs a script where you are traveling might be a unwarranted assumption
