I'm scared, had protected sex with a transexual sex worker
« on: February 19, 2019, 09:21:30 am »
At the end of December I had sex with a transexual sex worker, everything with protecting, oral and anal, I didn't felt that the condom broke either. Anyway, I had a flu two weeks later, acute tonsillitis according to the doctor, it went away in 4 days, I did the mistake of googling my symptoms and I got scared since then. She told me she was clean and that she had a test on October and this one was negative, I took an eclia test on the 25 day and this one came out negative. I'm still anxious and stressed because I've been having these night sweats 3 weeks after the test and they're driving me crazy, my psychologist told me to calm myself because they were caused by my anxiety. I'm trying to calm myself but I just can't, here in my country it is very hot at night but I don't know what to think. I'm not very sure if I had some sores in my mouth that day but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt, I remember very well that I didn't felt any blood coming out from the mouth of the sex worker.
Again, I'm having many irrational thoughts and over-thinkig too much, my stress and anxiety is over the roof these recent weeks.
I protected myself and I was always the top, I didn't gave nor anal sex or oral, but I took some pre-cum from her penis and she licked it on her mouth, after many many minutes I kissed her and that's the part that's been worrying me a lot. Hope someone helps me.

I'm the same guy from the post, I want to say that when I gave her he pre-cum I didn't kissed her straight away, I didn't after many minutes passed, I'm very aware that saliva is very efficient destroying hiv but again I don't remember very well if I had sores that day. I'm very scared.

Hiya

I read your posts three times carefully.

Please avoid "clean" to indicate a  HIV neg status, it implies those living with HIV are  dirty, avoid this even when quoting someone. Thank you

I'll keep it short nothing you mentioned was a HIV concern whatsoever. If this was your only sexual encounter in life than HIV simply is not your issue.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection going forward

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as safe in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for acquiring far easier to transmit STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Ok, I'm the same guy of the post, just came back from the medic. He said all the things I've been having is just part of my anxiety and high stress. He told me that my results of my 4 week test are considered accurate (it was a 5th generation one) and also that I used a condom, he also told me that if my acute tonsillitis was sing of hiv then the test would've shown that and that wasn't the case. He told me I didn't had an actual sore in my mouth, well it was indeed one but this one was a scarred oor (meaning it was closed and it was actually protecting my skin of the mouth) and that I shouldn't worry about that.
He has assured me that if I take another test in any next month the result won't change.
Guess I'll trust him now, he has cleared up many of my thoughts, also that it was my first time and he said it was ok to worry.
I won't google my symptoms ever again.

Hiya

I don't know what from this encounter has you so freaked out, prehaps misplaced guilt over sexuality or something who knows ... Anyhow what i do know is it was no HIV risk!

So it this was only sexual encounter in life than HIV simply is not your issue. End of story!

If you keep having fears about this than I would suggest you consider support from a professional therapist to help you cope with your thoughts & fears.

Please do not post about this encounter again!
