Switching from Atripla to Symfi - Need advice
« on: January 04, 2019, 08:02:40 pm »
Hello friends,

Like so many here have already mentioned, my Florida health care provider has removed Atripla from the formulary list and it is no longer covered. I have a built up supply of about 10 bottles, so I am good for quite a while. It was kind of my rainy day supply....

Well, now I am going to start building my supply of the new meds that I have decided to switch to, Symfi. I was on Stribild, but had an allergic type reaction in the very beginning, so I stopped taking those and am concerned with the switch.

My question is, has anyone on here switched from Atripla to Symfi and had any problems at all with the switch, either in side effects or in the efficacy of the medicine? I am UD (since April 2015) and my CD4 count has finally recovered up to 659, but it has taken 4 and a half years to get there from a mere 276 in July, 2014.

I will speak to my Doctor as well, but honestly, I value the feedback on here more than my primary care physician.

Thank you in advance....
