Krispy Kreme Ireland, world news
« on: October 06, 2018, 03:24:57 pm »
It used to be just Guinness and potatoes, but someone decide to bring doughnuts to Ireland and it blew our poor simply minds.

As its 15 min drive from the office I went to look at the madness and its true 3 hour+ waiting for a doughnut, no I did not wait, as I bought mine ( 5 euro for 1 ) from a backally doughnut dealer (Tesco) just so I could show the lads at work  :(

I know its sad state of affairs

Traffic jams and loud horns after midnight. That's how Ireland welcomed its first Krispy Kreme

North Carolina (the state where both I and Krispy Kreme were born) says "you're welcome" :)

last month they had lemon-glazed doughnuts and last week they were serving coffee-glazed ones. mmmmmm

The trick with Krispy Kreme donuts is to only buy the ones that are just made and still warm.... Buy a dozen and eat half of them right there at the store while still warm!

I'm with you Jim on the 5 for 1 euro at Tesco.  Jam ones please!  :)

Actually at work, we were getting them so much last year we had to ban donut runs to Tesco. My waist was expanding daily!

They're pretty much completely different though aren't they - the Tesco ones to the Krispy Kreme ones? I guess it's in the glaze...

I don't eat doughnuts often (well, since the diet 'not at all' ahem) but in the UK Krispy Kreme are everywhere but usually as small stands or self-service type things in garages, and I must admit you do feel that they have that extra 'something' about them that the supermarket ones don't.

Anyway, if I was forced to eat something sugary from a supermarket I'd get an Asda Belgian Bun, or one of their cream-slices (with jam) over a doughnut. Supermarket doughnuts make me think of the office too much :)
