article on pain
« on: August 23, 2018, 02:17:14 pm »

i read the  Breitbart study a while ago.  If i try to mention any of this to the doctors they pretend they do not hear me. I am not stupid. I can read. yet they dismiss my concerns and ability to function. Fuck them! I need to ACT UP.

As many as 85% of patients with HIV/AIDS-related pain may be undertreated, far exceeding the undermedication of pain in cancer patients

Despite evidence that women currently suffering from life-threatening illnesses including HIV disease often present with greater pain prevalence and intensity than men, they appear to be vulnerable to undertreatment of their pain. The fact that many women with AIDS have histories of, or current difficulties with substance use, as well as limited access to health care services,

A small number of studies have examined the impact of pain on psychological well being and psychosocial functioning among patients with AIDS. Singer et al reported associations between the frequency of multiple pains and increased disability and greater depressive symptom severity[13].

What a long strange trip it's been
