Am I in the clear?
« on: July 14, 2019, 05:48:58 pm »
So my possible exposure was 12/12/18 unprotected mostly oral and vaginal for like 5 mins or less combined I ended it due to not feeling right and I left.  March 5th Got a sore on penis started as scab then turned hard and maybe kind of white still hasnt went away . Did syphilis test in Feb and mar both negative but in 90 day window as neg. Did HIV insti rapid in Feb, March, April, May, June, and most recently July 12th was not reactive. I've had this weird small round dots rash on my triceps that are round and skin color  that doesnt itch. Developed a dry cough that is not strong anymore about June 5th that still persist but very slight today did an actual blood test for syphilis and HIV today should hear by end of week. Whatvare the chances of  being syphilis false neg in the first 90 days? Could my last 6 insti rapid HIV test not pick up antibodies within 7 months?? Totally freaking out.  I will say I'm hsv1 positive and would this mess up a hiv reading on insti? I feel fine at this point just a slight cough when near cold air and when I got my cough a lot of ppl had this cough so I'm confused. thanks in advanced!

Hiya

You have tested conclusively negative for HIV post the concerned encounter so unless you have had ongoing risk events the result will not change.

Sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell but see your GP and treat whatever is making you sick

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.  Considering starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV prevention going forward

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Yes I havent had any exposure since then because I know I made a mistake. Could syphilis show up after 90 days? 12/12/18 was my last exposure to any possible STDs she claims to be clean

Good for her, glad she had a wash, well I'm perfectly fucking clean as well, had a shower this morning. Touch of AIDS doesn't change that.

Anyhow you have conclusively tested HIV negative post this incident and, as for other easier to transmit STI's please work with your doctor

Hiya

A cough could be anything or nothing at all, stop stressing and, see your GP so they can treat whatever it is. It's not HIV though from the concerned encounter
