Freaking Out A Bit
« on: April 08, 2015, 05:35:24 pm »
Just got tested on the the past Friday and got the confirmation blood draw results today.  Scared.  I am in Houston and there is a good clinic that I have an appointment tomorrow to navigate things.  They sound nice and helpful.  Just sitting here in my apartment alone and worried about the future.  I've done a ton of research, drug treatments, etc over the past few days but just scared.

it'll be ok... not the end of world at all. ain't fun, ain't easy, but you'll make it

don't freak out, your fears will always be greater than the reality.

meet with the specialist tomorrow, and take things as they come. you'll have some blood tests; resistance profile to see what med options are available to you, viral load and cd4 tests to see where you're starting this journey at. after that you'll know much better where you stand and how hard things are going to be for you initially.

this is a very treatable virus these days. meds are good, they work. trust in them.

that ton of research, probably already too much. up at the top of the screen there is a treatment tab, lessons option under that. you'll be able to learn pretty much everything you need to know right now. be careful of other sources, there is a lot of out of date material on the internet. this board is ran by people that pride themselves of up to date accurate information.

and welcome. sorry you have to be here, but it's great you found this board so soon. lean in anytime for anything you need. vent away if you're stressed.

again, welcome to the party

AC, does this have to do with your insurance, or are you posting it to let people know you need support for your recent positive test result?  I'm wondering because if it's the latter, I can move this to the proper forum and you may get more replies.

Posted in the wrong forum.  I went to the center today and the insurance part is less a concern.  It's more of a support/person to talk to thing.  I feel better after going there but there are times in the day where I need an encouraging word or someone to tell me they are okay.  Please move my post.  On here I hope to makes some friends to support each other.  Still learning the site navigation.

hiya, one of the mods will get this moved for you, why i woke up at 4am i'm not sure

most of the time, you'll just post in living with hiv... unless you have a really specific issue, then just try to fit it in the most appropriate forum... no big deal at all
