"I'm Not Homophobic-Only You Can't Pimp A Guy"
« on: November 12, 2006, 12:41:03 PM »
Awhile back I was reading in the local free paper here in Queens, how one angry man was wanting to clean a park frequented by men for sex. Showing a photo of a pile of used condoms and tissues, and a story of finding these things along with soiled underpants it would be hard to argue against him.
True there were valid points being made, public lewdness and the unsanitary litter left are unlawful.
The first page also had an opinion written by the editor with fiery commentary worthy of our 43 president. Yet despite the editor saying he wasn't against homosexuals, I felt something askew.

I put my thoughts down and sent them off to 2 people , one a great friend of mine who actually lives in the neighborhood and to someone on this forum.  My friend replied that she jogs through said park, and never had a problem with the cruising pink panthers.
I pointed out in my letter that this free paper has in the back a want ads page
( now 2 sides) for adults. I also pointed out that I applauded the effort to clean up his park and hope it would be carried over to my neighborhood where, despite the many gay bars, it is is the straight ones that are causing a problem.
Siting that  almost every Sunday, groups of drunken couples leaving the premises roam around dumping garbage on my community, as well as  the noise they make screaming at each other.
My feeling though was no one would dare write a page saying that there needs to be a police campaign against str8s

In the end I didn't write anything because no matter what I put to words it seemed to say I was advocating sex in public parks between gay men- though I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few married guys who  frequent the park as well as a few police officers.

Today I picked up a copy of this paper and as I said the adult classifieds are now 2 pages. Advertising about 99% Asian girls supposedly of college age.
One box says:
Black Colombian,
French Hottie

Cum in and enjoy being
treated like a king...

I then realize that there are no ads for male escorts- which is why I gather the people of this working class local free paper are so bent in"taking back the park"

Should I bother to write this paper about it's hypocrisy?

The publisher of a newspaper is responsible for all of the content of his paper.

That includes advertising as well as editorial.

I would definitely point out the hypocrisy of his paper railing against gay men having sex in the park while it prospers on the profits of prostitution.

Have at.
