I am just so tired of watching him struggle with med changes.
« on: September 14, 2014, 05:37:53 pm »
My husband is the love of my life.I love him so much more than I have words to say.He has been positive for 17 years and in that time has developed multiple drug resistance.Last december he started reyataz with his truvada.Over these past eight months he has lost 60 pounds even though for his viral load was finally fully supressed. We saw his Dr. last week and his kidney function was being affected so he has started prezista in hopes his appetite comes back without the virus waking back up.I have no advice to give anyone.I have felt broken so many times through out the years but i am so thankful that we have the hope still that the prezista will be part of the combo for him that will finally work.I just want everyone who loves someone with HIV that your love and support of your loved one is so very important but seek help if you need it.This is a fight no one should have to do alone.

Your in my heart & prayers. I fully understand. My HIV love
one is my son. Hurts me to the fiber of my being, but I can't ever let
him see me break. He won't have any hope if I do, so I wear a smile, and
cry and break down on the inside...over and over within that order. I do have
faith. I know that I know GOD will pull us through.

Many Blessings
Loving Life through the Ups & Downs.

Candy, I'm glad you found your way here. As someone commented previously, this is not something to struggle with alone. I don't know where you live but if you are in a city, there might be some support available through an AIDS service organization. Or you might ask your husband's doctor about that.

It sounds like you and your husband have something special together.

Keep us posted on how things are going.
