How is it possible for me to get HBP medication needed?
« on: March 11, 2014, 02:53:47 PM »
Question:  How is it possible for me to get the High Blood Pressure medication I need?

I have no issues with receiving HIV meds, but I feel my life is being toyed with by local doctors in regards to getting 1 life saving medication that I need to live, high blood pressure meds.  Who do I call for help/ complaints/ assistance?

I moved in July of 2013 and was not able to find a primary care doctor until February 2014.   Had I not had 6 months of prescriptions from my previous HIV specialist I would have gone all that time without HBP meds and probably been hospitalized several times.  I can no longer get prescriptions from that doctor.  I have found a new primary care doctor since February 2014, but they want me to come in every month to have the prescription filled.

I feel they are toying with my life.  They only want me to come in so that they can make $30 off of the visit.  I would like to get a three month prescription from this doctor.  I am willing to come in every three months.  I have ben taking HBP meds for 16 years prior to seeing this doctor.

I don't feel that I will die from HIV, but from High blood pressure, a condition that is truly manageable with medication.     Please give me your thoughts on this .

Welcome to the forum  . You could always find a general practitioner that will write your script for 3 months so go to another doctor .

I edited out your personal information asking people to email you advise off site . Once you have posted 3 times you can send and receive personal messages but for security reasons we discourage new members from posting links and email address that direct people away from the forum .

Not likely.  I'm sure your doctor is not having you come in so he can make 30 dollars.  What's the rest of the story?

Don't be fancy, just get dancey
