8.5 months HIV Test Negative but After 1 year Swollen Lymph nodes..

Dear Sir,

I am Male from India..Last year i did blunder mistake,I had unprotected sex with a female strongly doubt to be HIV +ve...After somedays i faced almost all the ARS symptoms like Severe on off rashes on the chest,under armpit,on and off diarrhea, low grade fever,mouth ulcer and also swollen lymph nodes under armpit and all this last for almost 2 months.

My Test are as follows..

Elisa Hiv 1 & 2 at 84 days post exposer ....= Negative ( SHAH LABORATORIES MUMBAI)

Western Blot Test at 105 Days post exposer... = Negative (SHAH LABORATORIES)

Duo 4th generation teat at 8.5 months .. = Negative (METROPOLIS)


Then I forgot that incidence and started moving towards life happily but Now its almost 1 year and again since last 15 days i have large painful Swollen Lymph Nodes under the Jaw both side.
and on the right side of groin area..and also white tongue and some itching at the anal opening.

 I have existing Arthritis and neurological issues since last 3 years...Does swollen nodes are the sign of antibody production? Also is my 4th generation DUO is valid at 8.5 month of time as window period for 4th gen Duo is 4-6 weeks..Kindly help as  i am v disturb as my wife want to have kid but i take precautions with her and i am unable to concentrate on work and family.Kindly help and suggest what shall i do?

You are conclusively hiv negative.

You do NOT have hiv.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. You have already ruled hiv out as a possible cause.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks a lot for your earliest reply..kindly answer last questions

1) Is my 4th generation DUO test is valid at 8.5 months as window period for 4th gen test is 4-6 weeks as it detect p24?

2) Can i move on with my wife without any worry as i am very much worried for sudden PAINFUL swollen lymphnodes under the Jaw,back of ear and right side of Groin Area.Are you sure this is due to something else and not due to antibody production?

Once a person develops enough hiv antibodies to test positive, they will test positive on ANY hiv antibody test.

The p24 portion of the duo test is only useful in the first few weeks following initial infection. The p24 antigen disappears as antibodies appear.

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six WEEKS, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days.

A six week negative is highly unlikely to change, but must be confirmed at the three month point.

You were conclusively hiv negative when you tested negative at 84 days. (7 days X 12 weeks = 84; twelve weeks is conclusive) You did not need the additional tests you had after 84 days.

Whatever is going on with your lymph nodes has NOTHING to do with hiv. You have already more than conclusively ruled out hiv as a possible cause.

If you're worried about anything that is going on with your body, you need to see a doctor. We cannot diagnose your symptoms here, but we CAN tell you that whatever is going on has NOTHING to do with hiv.

In the meantime, stop poking and prodding your lymph nodes. Messing with them can cause them to be sore and swollen. Keep your hands OFF them and take them to a doctor.

You do NOT have hiv.
