What are these symptoms of?
« on: January 31, 2013, 06:30:19 PM »
In the summer I went camping, then came back, then shortly there-after developed an itchy rash that I thought was poison ivy. I ignored it pretty much, no one thought it was serious. It kept getting worse. Itchy red bumps, small, on my ankles, legs, wrists, and then breasts until my nipples actually itched. It was aggravating beyond measure. I looked up scabies, and then before or after, I washed in vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. i was also being a bit risky, sharing beds/towels, boyfriends etc. and so months and months later, they start telling me that I got everyone a rash or scabies. My boyfriend has it, friend, other friend, their families. etc. But I went to the dermotologist twice and they checked the bump skin samples under a microscope twice and found no sign of mites or scabies. My dad is upset and thinks they wrongfully scapegoated me. They told me it was exzema and I am treating it with topical steriods. I tried the vinegar thing again, and I just started itching. I think its sensitive skin. Could this be a coincidence that one guy who was starting rumors who I was never even hanging out with, told everyone I had scabies, thene everyone got it? Or is someone else the culprit? If I did have it, are those the signs?

So I started freaking out, because my exboyfriend is balding at twenty-five, I am not sure but I think he mentioned shingles, and we had unprotected sex too many times. I developed a cough, swollen glands, fever, etc. right before I developed the rash whcih may have coincided with an orgy of sorts. I think after that I got my blood tested for HIV but I don't remember, its always been negative and I'm always in good health plus I have an incredible immune system. But I dont know what exzema is and I've never gotten it before, and how does that explain everyone catching it?

What if it was some sort of secondary infectious disease caused by an STD? Is that possible? IDK. I'm going to test my blood again tomorrow. I am probably just putting everything together wrong like they were and freaking out over nothing. It could have just been a head cold...but the fever started before the rash, and after I....did something...with someone...which I shouldn't have...

I lost my virginity to a gay dude and I think I could have caught something from him, because one girl said that he had clamydia, but I checked for that too. I think I'm negative for everything, but I don't know. I just wondered if anyone knows what kind of rash this could be....and if it was scabies, why were there no signs? Did it just go away by the time I got to the doctor? Or do those tests show accuracy..they said they were 100 percent sure it wasn't scabies.

Obviously we can't diagnose your symptoms here, as A) primary HIV symptoms don't resemble what you describe at all, and B) not everyone gets those symptoms.

I think the real question here is, have you gotten a full STD panel three months past your past unprotected sex? If not, then that's your only real way to be certain.

And of course I don't have to lecture you about using condoms for penetrative sex.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
