U.S. HIV/AIDS State Fact Sheet
« on: June 22, 2012, 02:02:47 AM »
I know these stats have been posted before, but thought may be interesting for those who missed it.  It is compiled data for each state on those living with HIV/AIDS and funding for care, prevention, and things like dental.  Some states, like Florida, include prisons in their largest impacted counties.  Another thing I found interesting is how my state, Kentucky, only gives data for those living with AIDS, while Indiana differentiates between HIV and AIDS, for example.  I'm not sure why this is.

The number of HIV specialist by State

When you compare how many people have HIV compared to how many HIV specialists there are in each state it's quite apparent that many people with HIV are not seen by an HIV specialist.

Arkansas for example has 4000+ people living with HIV and Zero HIV specialists
