OCD Overkill?
« on: May 05, 2012, 08:32:40 PM »
Roughly a month ago I met a guy at a bar. I was drunk and went back to his hotel room. We showered together. During this I hit my face on his head causing a cut on the inside of my upper lip.

We both had oral sex and he gave me a rim job. He wanted to have sex but I told him that I didn't want to. He tried finger me a few times but I told him thar I did not enjoy that. We both finished on each other but not in each other. I did not swallow but tasted semen.

I am concerned that the cut on my lip could welcome the virus.

Additionally, he most likely had semen on his hands when he fingered me.

I have read many posts about transmission and it seems by our acts there would be no exposure. However, other circumstance were different. I would like reassurance that I am okay. Or should I get tested?

Thank you,

The only reason to get tested is if you need the inevitable negative result just for your peace of mind. Because nothing you are reporting put you at risk for HIV including his having had semen on his fingers when he fingering your butthole.

Your saliva contains a dozen enzymes and proteins which very effectively form a barrier against the transmission of viable HIV, yes even with a fresh injury in your mouth.

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

On Friday, May 30, 2014 I had sex with a guy.  He was the bottom; we used a condom.  I am sure the condom did not break.  We had oral sex, fingered, etc.  No condom was used for oral.

On August, 29, 2014 I got tested for HIV and the result was negative.  It was exactly 90 days from the my last sexual encounter.  Do I need to test again?

Thank you

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions.  It helps us, to help you, when you keep everything in one thread.  It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Thank you for your cooperation.

You never needed to test as you did not have a risk.  You are negative and no further testing is required.
