Scared and freaking out
« on: April 05, 2012, 07:55:31 PM »
A bout 8 days ago I had a encounter with a ex girlfriend. Heavy kissing, unprotected oral to me from her, and protected vaginal intercourse. I did finger her but did not have any cuts on my hands fingers ect that I could detect. Later around 30min I scratched a bump on my head and caused it to bleed. Her status is unknown to me.
1. I know it is unlikely to get HIV from oral at least female to male.
2. HIV does not live long once out side the body.
3. Not being circumcised some what increases my risk.

q1. What are my real risk here?
q2. Is it possible i infected myself by scratching the bump with vaginal fluid on my finger?
q3. I am scheduled to have a test at 28 days post is it reliable?

Nothing that you mention is in ANY WAY a risk for HIV.

You used a condom for penetrative sex. That's all that matters here.
"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

Thanks for the reply.
I am just driving myself crazy searching the net looking up symptoms for ARS and whatever. Every little ache or sniffle sets me looking again.  I know it is just stress and hypochondriac-ism. I think a test would make me feel more sane but is a test at 28 days post reliable know the low risk encounter I had? Also since i had dried vaginal fluid on my hands and under my nails would I be at risk from that scratch?

You didn't have a low risk, you didn't have a risk at all and don't need testing.
