Giving Oral Sex on HIV+ Man
« on: January 26, 2012, 05:41:12 PM »
Hello! Thank you so much for your time. I will try to keep this quick as I'm sure there are numerous other posts. Last night I met up with a man and gave him oral sex. He didn't ejaculate in my mouth, but there was pre-cum. While I have normal oral hygiene, my gums occasionally bleed after a hard brushing, which I had done about 15 minutes before the act took place.

After the act was done, he told me he was HIV+ and he is healthy and undetectable -- I understand there is a low risk of being infected, but (like many people on this forum), I am quite anxious and worried about this situation as his precum was in my mouth. Do you think I need to get tested specifically for this circumstance? Or am I just being paranoid and all is well. As for my other sexual history, whenever I have penetrative sex (top or bottom) I always use a condom and I have very few sexual partners.

Thank you very much for your time, and answers!  :)

You were not at risk of contracting HIV from oral sex. Saliva contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibits HIV transmission.
