Please assess my condition
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:25:56 AM »
Hi Ann and company,

I learned lot of things here in forum. Please assess my situation. I'm 24 and bisexual, last Sep. 24, I had sex with a guy, acctually my first time with a guy. He is a sex worker, I just want to experience having sex with same sex. I bottomed him with condom but I gave him bj without protection. I know oral sex is not a way to spread hiv, the problem is, that time I have sore throat and my colds are about to start. If my partner is HIV positive, will I be infected with it? Also, we french kiss for about 10mins.

I'm paranoid with it because when I have sore throat and colds my body system is weak so bacteria or viruses can easily enter my system.

Thank you in advance.

Your saliva acts as a very effective natural barrier to the transmission of HIV when giving oral. It contains over a dozen elements and proteins which act to prevent the transmission of viable HIV. Kissing of any kind is not a risk for HIV transmission.

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. If you always use condoms properly for those activities you will be well protected.

There is no need for testing over your recent incident.

Yes, even with the details you have thrown into the mix. Sexual risk for HIV is about unprotected intercourse. That's it.
