Worried from symptoms
« on: August 07, 2011, 02:52:13 PM »
I am glad I found this forum and hope you can help me understand my situation.
2 weeks and 2 days ago I had sex with a girl that has a risky history. I also saw what I think is a syphilis sore above her vagina.
Activities were: I wore a condom on my 2 middle fingers and massaged her clitoris and fingered her vagina in a limited way. Put another condom on my penis and she gave me oral sex. She put lotion (what's usualy available in hotel rooms) between her breasts and I took off the condom and She massaged my penis in between her breasts and I ejaculated.

4 days later I had a swollen lymph node below my left ear. Went to a GP, told me not to care and it went on its own.
Today, 2 weeks and 2 days later I Had another swollen lymph right above my collar to the left side. It hurts so bad when I move my neck. Have a mild sore throat. Red blotches here and there over my body. Temprature is normal but I feel very hot. Also having gas.

So, how do you assess the risk? I went through the same circumstances a year and had 5 hiv tests one of them was false poz! So I prefer not going through testing again but I just need logical assessment given the symptoms I am experiencing which are making me nervous.

You are worrying absolutely needlessly about HIV. Nothing you did put you at risk for HIV. Even without using a condom, receiving oral is not a risk. Nor is fingering whether she had a sore or whatever.

You need to know that in terms of protecting yourself against HIV sexually, the only confirmed risks are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

Other STDs are much easier to acquire so we do recommend anyone who is sexually active ought to regularly have a full STD panel done. That means at least annually.

But this time you have no cause for further concern about HIV.

Thank you very much Andy.
I will follow up with a physician to know what 's happening.
As for testing for other STDs, I totaly agree and I will do it as soon as I can.
Thanks again.
