one years with aids
« on: July 05, 2011, 08:09:41 PM »
drinking muscadine wine, anyone care to join? A TOAST!!!

one year ago i found out i am poz, time flies. i don't have any profound insights here or pearls of wisdom to share, but i am in a better head space today, and for that i am grateful

thank you all for being here

at various times for helping, educating, soothing, teasing, accepting, tolerating, saving, challenging

thank you for living with hiv, you have shown me in so many ways that life goes on
I set into a downward spiral
Caught an illness that was literally viral
I heard some words of wisdom the other day
And they went in one ear and out the other one

I awoke from this beatific binge
With prismatic eyes, now lite is tinged
With all the vapors that the vile humans brew
Shining through the blight of you

Pop a cork on some white zin, and I'll toast right along with you.  That's one of the great comments these days; life does go on.

And don't underestimate your own insights.  I believe we all arrive at that warm and fuzzy place through our own works, albeit with a little help from our friends.

Being honest is not wronging others, continuing the dishonesty is.

Isn't it incredible to hit that one year mark while you can still recall some of the early moments?

Like Mike, I'll raise a glass of sparkling grape juice in a sparkling clean glass and wish you a sparkling Year 2!

Being in a better head space today, is something that you did for yourself and you should be extremely proud. It takes a lot of courage to face our infection and tame our demons.  If I helped in any way, I am pleased, but all credit goes to you, as real change must come from within.
