Despite 36 aftershocks just reported on our news, some remarkable rescues are thankfully still occurring. May there be many more.

Dear Jan,

I just came across this thread, and I am so sorry about the suffering and loss of life that has taken place in your beautiful corner of the world. I am relieved that you and your family were not physically harmed by the earthquake, and I hope that your son and his family will be back on their feet soon.

This is a terrible tragedy, Jan. I'm so glad your family is safe. We've been watching the news and seeing all the damage, and the amazing rescues. Curtis emailed me a picture of the cathedral that he took in 2007 followed by a picture of what it looks like now, and it is just heartbreaking.
