Who I should belive
« on: February 01, 2011, 11:39:10 AM »
I remember before a positive diagnosis see the person performing the rapid test (HIV) said it is not so easy to transmit and other times they say that easy transmitter. What people  should believe or whom to believe?

Is better STOp living in the past, the I SHOULDn't doesn't exist.

You're confused about whether HIV is easily transmitted or not?  My own take is that it is relative to circumstances, (or more specifically to behavior).

In the real life day-to-day world, I'd say HIV is a fragile virus that is NOT easily transmitted.  BUT...if you are engaging in specific behaviors where there is body fluid exchange - like sharing needles and unprotected penetrative sex - then obviously it would become easier to become infected.

I'm not sure what your confusion is.  I mean in the scope of day to day life, you aren't all that likely to get hit by a car, but if you're constantly running out into the road in high traffic, then yeah.

As Thunter 34 said HIV is a very fragile virus. As an example HIV is very temperature sensitive and can not survive very long out of the body; largely due to temperature (drop) change.

Also in relationship to the original question about transmitability and rapid tests. Keep in mind HIV rapid tests typically test for the presence of HIV antibodies; they do not test for HIV.
