Testing Results
« on: December 03, 2010, 01:23:44 AM »
Iíve posted here over a year ago and I donít remember my screen name, I do apologize in advance.  I have return for further guidance and an evaluation of my past testing results.

I had unprotected sex with and HIV + individual back in 2009.  I took a Rapid HIV antibody test (oral swab) approximately 35 days after my initial sexual encounter and 22 days after I noticed symptoms of systemic swollen lymph nodes, a sore throat, and a small grade fever.  I tested HIV Negative.

Months later I wrote you folks again and you counseled/advised me retest, a conclusive test result would be legit at 13 weeks.  I took your advice and took another HIV Rapid antibody test (oral swab) 8 months later, again I tested negative.

Is this a conclusive and legit result?
I continue to have painful swollen systemic lymph node issues.  I tested HIV negative twice, Negative for HEP A, B, and C, Cancer free pertaining to a lymph node biopsy, and all CBCís (and other labs) within normal limits.  During the 1st 4 months of this I was on Azithromycin and Amoxicillin on two separate occasions.  So the doctor didnít test me for any other STDís, he told me that the antibiotics would have cleared any of the typical STDís.  I was not tested for Herpes Simplex I or II.

Well over a year and several months later I still continue to difficult systemic lymph node issues.  If my HIV test results are both conclusive and legit, would you have a recommendation has to what I should take into consideration and have tested next?

Much Appreciated

P.S. I continue to practice safe sex, no ifs, ands, or butts and I am now in a monogamous LTR.  I thank you again for expertise and knowledge.

You are conclusively hiv negative. Keep working with your doctor to find the cause of your problems. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv. You do not have hiv.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
