Would you please assess my risk
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:00:56 PM »
Before I start I have read lot of posts about oral sex and everyone says its a therotical risk. Also read that hand job in any variation is ZERO risk. But I still want you experts to assess my situation.

Male 30yr old married for the last 5 year. No prior sexual relationship.

here's chronology of events
1) Oct 2009: went first time to strip club for bachelor party. Had a lap dance which culminated with hand job.
2) Dec 26th 2009: Wife concieved. No sex with her till now 6/15. somehow the idea of having baby in there didn't make me do it.
3) Jan 20th, feb 10: went with friend to asian massage... again culminated with hand job
4) Feb 26th 2010: Wife had her blood tests for pregnency. HIV negative.
5) March 18th 2010: Massage culminated with PROTECTED BLOW JOB. Than she removed the condom and put another one and tried giving me another blowjob. after about 5 min i said enough and pulled out.
6) Early april suffered for 1-2 weeks with runny nose, mucus discharge, sore throat.. may be allergies. But this started to trouble me and thats when i went online and everything pointed to HIV.
7) After this I became paranoid, guilty and thought that i have acquired HIV through that incidence.
8) May 10th: i was so stressed that I had another massage(baby oil) with handjob.. don't know what i was thinking. ???. this was different than above. the masseuse was nude and she sucked my nipple for a bit. rubbed her body over mine.
9) May 14th: Saw my PCP and basically told him that i wanted to get tested. He said protected blowjob is low risk but if you want we can do it. I told him its exactly 8 weeks. Got my result may 17th (8 WEEKS TEST HIV NEGATIVE)
i was relieved and thought everything was over but over the last couple of weeks I have been having sore throat, weakness and then I found that seroconversion can happen in 12 weeks. 8 week testing is not enough.  plus I was concerned that my may 10th incidence might have skewed the results.
DOES MY WIFE NEED ANY TESTING? we have french kissed a lot of times. NO SEX.

Your primary care physician needs to get himself some professional HIV/AIDS education. Receiving a blowjob is not a risk for HIV transmission - protected or unprotected.

Nothing you have outlined here is a risk for HIV transmission. Your 8 week test result is reliable you are HIV negative.

Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to our lessons on HIV transmission. You should also check out the posting guidelines while you're there. We won't allow you to go on and on about no risk situations.
