« on: January 14, 2010, 01:22:04 PM »
i broke up with my girlfirend 5 months ago, we used to have protected sex for 2-3 months.but i am concerned with other things in our sexual relationship. she used to suck and soak my neck and shoulder during the intercourse and sometimes i had her teeth marks on my neck and shoulder. also the next day there were purpleness too. i mean it was all purple coloured. in short i can say that it was like she was biting me. but i dont remember if my shoulder or neck bleeded. all i can remember is that next day it was all purple on my shoulder and neck. since i do not know the hiv status of her, should i worry? is it possible to be infected like that? for the last two weeks i had joint and feet ache and i feel very tired. please help me? should i have a test for it?

As long as you always had protected intercourse then there is no reason for you to be worried about HIV. Nothing else you have described would have put you at risk for HIV transmission. The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse.

Other STDs are easier to acquire so if  you are sexually active it is a good idea at least annually to have a full STD panel done.

Andy thank you for your quick response, i really appreciate it. but i am worried about the possible blood transfer. i mentioned that she kissed me so hard-i mean she sucked my neck and shoulders. next day i had little bruises, teeth marks and purple spots. is it possible for the hiv to be transmitted from her mouth to my neck by blood? btw i think she did not have blood or bleeding in her mouth but i'm still nervous...

There is no way possible that you were at risk of contracting HIV from receiving a hickey.

The skin is the largest organ of our body and it's there to protect us, when it's intact it stop infection getting into our body and into our bloodstream...your girlfriend gave you a hickey she didn't bite a chunk out of your neck..you are getting yourself worked up over nothing.

No risk for HIV or anything else...move on and enjoy life, and remember Condoms at all times...NO EXCEPTIONS.

Never knock on deaths door..ring the bell and run..he really hates that.
