(mostly) good numbers after 1st month Atripla
« on: August 28, 2009, 06:51:46 PM »
I got my lab results after first 4 weeks on Atripla: VL dropped down from 22,900 to 70 (almost U/D!!) CD4 has very slightly gone up (from 278 to 303) and % from 19.9 to 23.3.

All in all I think these are good indications..

As for side effects left overs: I don't get dizzy anymore, thou I carefully maintain 2-3 hrs food break b4 taking the pill. I never got any rash. Dreams are vivid/rememberful but not bad or or destractive. I actually sleep pretty well 7-8 hrs without any sleeping aids (I used to take ambien CR before starting the Atripla). The only "complaint" I got is that on occasion, maybe once a week, I would wake up feeling weak and energyless. That general weakness feeling will persist all day and usually go away the next morning.. then I will take advantege of that and go run my 5k trail :)

Sounds like you're well on your way.  I'm on my second month of Atripla (1 month of Truvada/Sustiva prior to) and my numbers have changed dramatically.  Even though my blood specimen for my VL count somehow got lost, my doctor believes that I am now undetectable, based on my previous numbers (see my signature line).

I don't have any side effects other than the same type of dreams as yours.  I'm just glad that I'm not having nightmares or night terrors.  As for my energy, while I do feel so much better than i did 6 months ago, it's kinda hard to tell because I have been extremely busy with work and my mom ( 2 broken hips since mother's day).  so, things have been a little stressful.

Overall, I do feel good.  No other issues.  I'll be glad when things start to slow down a little so I can get back into the gym or some type of exercise.  I know I just need to make time for it, but I need to get through this episode in my life first.

I'm so glad the meds are working.  I'll definitely keep posting any updates.
Good luck with yours.

I'm no doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but it appears things are going well for both of you.  Congratulations.
