Question on testing
« on: June 06, 2009, 02:12:58 PM »
I have been on meds since 2005 and my blood test results indicate that I am "undetectable".  My question is when traveling to any country that restricts entry to those individuals who are HIV Pos, if I go through their HIV testing will it result in "negative"?  Along this line of questining can I get around issue with military restricting Pos to stateside only assignments?  How has anyone gotten around these dilemmas?

I'm not sure about your other questions but I can say this: if you are given an HIV test, even if you are undetectable, you will still test Positive. The test indicates the presence of HIV antibodies in the blood and those still remain even with little or no virus present.

Well that wasn't what I wanted to hear  >:(   I do appreciate your response though.  Guess my traveling and over seas assignments will be limited.
