First Disappointing Lab Results
« on: May 12, 2009, 10:01:12 AM »
well, guess it had to happen at some point - first labs since doctor switched me from the Epzicom/Sustiva regimine to the Atripla and my viral load spiked from undetectible to 1,494 and my CD4 dropped from 541 to 431.  going for a retest on thursday, maybe a lab error, who knows.  also going for a genotype to see if i have resistence to the Viread component of the Atripla, which I should not since my initial genotype indicated no drug resistances.  hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........sort of disappointing to break a 4+ year trend of improvement :-(

Infected:  Probably 1995
Diagnosed: June 2005
Baseline VL: 650,000
Baseline CD4: 30

Last Dr. Visit: 12/2013
VL: Undetectable
CD4: 700
Meds: Complera

Best wishes to you. I would not fret so much over the subtle drop min CD4 count. My count varies from time to time. I have heard (although certainly not confirmed--or know for sure) that the time of day, and many other factors can influence the count. I certainly would not worry too much unless it consistently drops.

Best of luck!
