Never mind me, just whining and blubbering
« on: February 18, 2009, 10:02:37 AM »
As many here know or who give a shit, recent oral surgery has left me a little worse for the wear but not completely out of the game yet. I had planned to return to work today, but apparently the dox think that not too wise but relented to allow it Sunday next if I get enough rest between now and then.

With the economy and all the layoff stuff coming out lately I am scared being away too long will put me at the head of the line should cuts come down from on high at my workplace.

I have been having a serious mental and emotional breakdown  :'( (lots of crying for no apparent good reason) these past few days that has not helped any, the dox say it is mostly from exhaustion and that given enuff time and rest I should be back on my knees in no time at all. (yeah, I know, stolen from Nicholson)

This past weekend I played hostess again for a friend, his new wife and two of his three kids and I think even though I enjoyed having them, it put my reserves on fumes in the energy department. I will be having a serious talk with one or another doc about a freeking energy pill to go with the fifteen or so other ones I swallow daily.

On that note, I have decided I have had it up to here with the side effects of Atripla and on my upcoming visit to see HIV doc, I plan to insist on switching to something that may be a little easier on my system. I have troopered it out with that shit for nine months now and even though my numbers have improved on it, the nightmares continue unabated and the shitting my brains out has gotten seriously OLD. Adding to that the recent round of antibiotics for the surgery and no amount of Imodium seems to put a plug in my poor tender bum.

Gee, and to think, I have a liver biopsy to look forward to this spring sometime! The fun just never ends.

I have never met a so called "bug chaser" but if I ever do, I swear I will force them to live with me for a few days just to get a taste of just how much "fun" they are missing out on.  :'(

Rex, don't give up the hope.  It could be the Sustiva in the Atripla is contributing greatly to your emotional distress.  I usually don't say anything like this, but I think talking to your doctor about switching is very wise.  Hang in there.

Hey Rex,  I hear you.  Life really can suck sometimes,  and a few things like finances, feeling shitty, teeth work, don't help either.   Wish I could come your way and give you a big hug,  bring you a big bag of groceries, and make a meal of comfort food for you!!.     I mean that in a good way, knowing that you work hard, inspite of this HIV thing, and have been bearing with Atripla side effects long enough.
Take care, and you know that you can always whine and blubber here, we honestly understand and most of us have and go or are there too!!

Hugs,  lots of them,  Bruce

I was trying not to mind your whining and blubbering but I just couldn't help myself.  ;)

Seriously, you have so much going on right now I hope you can get some serious rest and relax a bit before you have to start back at work.  I hope you find a med regimen that is easier for you to take.

Benefiber is really, believe it or not a great answer, you will have to ask your Nurse or Dr the mount and how long you take it. it works the reverse on us HIV people so disregard what it is saying on the bottle.
Much care, Jerry

I fell coma like,  two months later weighing 95 pounds and in extreme pain and awoke to knowledge of Pancreatis, Cryptococcal Meningitis, Thrush,Severe Diarea,  Wasting, PCP pneumonia. No eating, only through tpn. Very sick, I was lucky I had good insurance with the company I worked for. I was in the hospital for three months that time.
