Viramune+Truvada Dizziness!!
« on: October 15, 2008, 08:52:24 AM »
Hi everybody!
Sorry to be a pain, and I know I write a lot so I will try to be short! Heheh
Well I started taking Truvada+Viramune 2 days ago!  The first night after I took the pills I was feeling very dizzy and panicky! So I could only sleep one hour that night! So yesterday  I took the pills for the second day and I was panicky a bit and dizzy again! But this morning its about 2:00pm I am still feeling very dizzy! Drunken Dizzy!
My mouth gets very dry as well at night after I take the pills! So I donít know!
Does anyone that takes the same meds feel the same? And how long did it take to the side effects to settle down?

When I started truvada I would get dizzy spells. It lasted only for a couple of weeks.  It was a little weird at first but it was manageable.  I just tried to stay focused on that the drugs were knocking out the virus and I was going to start feeling healthy again.

Truvada did carry a "may cause dizziness" warning label on the first set of pills.  And I lost my balance and fell a lot the first 6-8 weeks on it.  But at the time I attributed that mainly to having lost most of the balance muscles in my legs from a long time in bed and then hospital  with pneumonia, so not sure how much that is or will be like your experience.

Haven't noticed any balance problems after those first 8 weeks.

A lot of people on the boards suggest that you try to stick a new medicine out for a few weeks, since side effects often subside -- but you might want to call your doctor and let her/him know how you are doing.

Hope you feel better soon

It is not Truvada in my experience. It is the Viramune!
