Mexico City on Google Earth
« on: August 21, 2008, 12:08:28 PM »
I know.  I should be looking at porn like a normal person.   :D

Google Earth in my opinion is one of the most outstanding things the Internet has to offer.  These are the 3-dimensional buildings around Mexico City I was able to recognize now that I've actually been there.  Many others that are not in 3D are easily found too.  If anybody would like help setting it all up to enjoy on your own just ask!

Monumento a la Revolucion - The fountain where we had the memorial is clearly visible.

Fiesta Americana Reforma - None of the museums or buildings at the Zocalo are 3D, but our hotel is!  The Christopher Columbus traffic circle is there, and the construction across the street apparently had not yet started when the photo was taken.

Edificio Loteria - This is the building on Reforma that had wings painted on it.

Seguridad LatinoAmericana - The tall spiry bank building, view of which both assisted and confused me with directions this week.

La Bolsa - The very angular building with palm trees on Reforma that I later learned is the Mexican Stock Exchange.

HSBC Tower - The Angel isn't in 3D, but the two American banks around it are.

Residential Towers - Don't know the official name.  Twin buildings near the Anthropology Museum.

Teotihuacan - I didn't expect that anyone would have yet contributed a 3D version of this place, but there it is!  Hard to find using name searches, but it's at 19 41′ 33″ N, 98 50′ 37.68″ W
