Viral Load
« on: July 18, 2008, 10:02:44 AM »
Hello Friends

I have been on meds since sep 2006. I started meds when my T cell are 50 and VL of 70k. My ID put me on sustiva and truvada. My Viral load became less than 500 in 4 months and then to less than 50. My T cell reached 240.

I just got my lab reports and i found out my VL is 150. My drs office tells me that i am still undetectable and not to panic. I will be monitored closely in my next test after 3 months

But i am in a panic mode right now.Is it common that viral load to fluctuate like this. I never missed my dose( I have taken them late couple of times).

Please share your experience

I know easier said than done, but not to worry.  More than likely this is just a 'blip' and nothing to worry about.  This happens frequently to those of us on meds and it often a temporary reading (that's why they call it a 'blip'.)  It can be a result of a bad draw, stress, recovering from a cold or flu or a number of other things.  Next time things are back to normal.

LIke the rest of us, you want to read the worst, but don't.  Just continue on as you have been.  Let us know what the next test results are.

Pink, I agree with Robert.  It's probably just a blip.  Now don't get all stressed out-it happens to the best of us (blips).
