Weird Scenario, Symptoms, Risk & Testing!!
« on: July 09, 2008, 08:02:23 AM »
Hi all,

I had this really weird scenario with sexual contact with a sex worker about 7 weeks ago....She gave me a protected blwojob for about 5 minutes & towards the end of it i realised that the condom that we were using had broken.....so i took it off & wiped myself & then put on a new one....as she was settling back to go ahead with the blwojob again she scratched the part of my thigh with her sharp earrings....which resulted in a scratch & cut which brought some blood out..not too much..

Well again i had to ask her to wait.....quickly found a antiseptic tissue & wiped it off.....the bleeding had stopped, but i guess it was still oozing & fresh from the injury....

Now here's the weird part.....we came back close together & the new condom was on, as she was about to settle onto me to have vaginal sex....i was adjusting the condom correctly & she squatted on my thigh with her vagina on my thigh quite close to my cut.....i guess in all the excitement i did not have the presence of mind to cover the wound with a bandaid....before i realised she was sitting on the cut & even if that was for around 15 - 20 seconds her vaginal fluids were on there....quite literally on the cut.....coz she was pretty aroused too i guess...

Anyways after that we engaged in protected vaginal sex.......& this time the condom remained intact so nothing to worry...

Now here are my concerns :

1. The condom breaking the first...could there have been risk....though i did not observe any blood in her mouth..

2. The vaginal fluids coming in contact with the new cut on my skin.....& this has got me all jittered....

I went to the doctor.....after 3 weeks since the exposure...& he presribed a HIV DNA PCR test for me....which returned negative....& told me that i had to come back again at the 6 week mark....

During the 6th week after the incident i was travelling on work, but i found a good medical centter in the region & they ran a rapid blood test....the next day they called me say that's its negative..

Now i know i have another 5 weeks to go before i retest again....to get the conclusive result....but are these atleast encouraging signs???

During the first 2 weeks i had some fatigue & stress related symptoms...coz obviuosly i was stressed out....Now around the 7-8 week mark i have developed an upper respiratory infection, sore throat & symptoms very much resembling peripheral neuropathy with spasms, twitching & tingling in the feet & palms...a lot of info on the web also says that PN does occur in HIV infected individuals.....

I really need some help on my exposure & risk & the situation i can consider myself to be in after these tests & the symptoms i'm having...Please help me!!!

Also one of the major reasons i've posted despite the fact that there is such well detailed information on this website is that....i'm pretty confused since not everyone's a great fan of the DNA PCR test & that even the antibody test at 6 weeks sounds good to many whilst others feel we must test out to 13 weeks.....

That's why i'd really request some help from this forum from the experts..Cheers!!

AM - aka russelman...

You were told in your original thread - under your original account - to read the Welcome Thread. If you had, you'd know that creating a new account is a bannable offence here.

You should also know from your first thread that nothing you bring to us here is a risk.

You are now banned from these forums. We take abuse of this site very seriously.
