Wow, just realized its been one year today.....weird
« on: May 29, 2008, 11:07:02 PM »
OK, I was bored and chatting online tonight, when someone asked me "So how long have you been poz?" I thought for a second and realized that today one year ago was the day I was exposed and infected. One week later I seroconverted, then my appendix burst sending me into a downward spiral for hell.

When I got the news Sept 4 that I was poz, its caused me to lose it....I then let the stupid virus run my thoughts and life. Now, not so much. The virus is always around, but I don't think about it that much. It doesn't run my life anymore...in fact...its just 3 pills I take at night. Probably the biggest change in my life is that I don't have sex that often, and now don't use drugs anymore. Guess I grew up from meeting HIV.

I still wonder about the future...will it mutate, will it screw me up, will I die early....don't know, and well don't care really. If it happens it happens. At this point I don't fear death, I don't want it to come for me now, but I am not afraid of it.

Guess I just wanted to put into words that I know that I am a year with HIV, and that I am OK with it. Thought this day would feel different...but it doesn't. Odd.

You have been through a lot this past year and you lived through it, a little bruised maybe? but hey bruises heal.

I am soooo proud of you Matt!

Congrats on making that first year!  Glad you were able to take control and come to a pretty good attitude about it all.

Here's to continued success with the meds, and a little more sex~
