« on: January 08, 2008, 02:10:43 PM »

This is my first time here I was needing to know how to post a question out there hope this is successfull, In 2005 I was involve with a person that was HIV pos. he did not let me know and by my own fault disregared the use of a condom, I left that state and returned to mine and learned he died early 2006 after the fact I learned he had HIV I have not gotten tested have not gotten fever but this past summer had an outbreak of some kind of hive on my thighs it took weeks however my skin stood with marks like I had chicken pop I know I have to go get tested its just that I am married and with two kids I which there was a easy way to go get tested this town is so small God knows it will be known, I sometimes think I have had night sweats don't know if is just my brain or it was fact. So is there anyone here who could advise me. I just had intercourse one day with him but the question is can I contract the HIV with just one exposure?

I realize you are new here so I moved your thread from "off Topic" please keep all your thoughts and questions in the "Am I infected" forum and in this thread from now on...thank you for your cooperation.

It doesn't matter if you are married or not if you have had unprotected sex with someone who is known to be HIV+ then you need to get tested.

Never knock on deaths door..ring the bell and run..he really hates that.

Symptoms never tell you anything accurately about your HIV status. But you did have unprotected intercourse, albeit only once. That is a high risk.

Hopefully you will test negative but the ONLY way you can reliably know your HIV status is by getting tested. If you haven't had any risky incidents since then that means you can get tested anytime now and get a reliable result.

Stop worrying, guessing and wondering. Get tested. Until you know your status, which hopefully will be negative, you should not be having unprotected intercourse.

Hopefully you will test negative but one way or the other you need to know.

Good luck and keep us posted.
