TMC 114
« on: October 30, 2007, 12:00:29 PM »
Is ther anyone on this drug? I never read the side effects because I don't want to have a case wher a perfactly good medicine is ditched because my mind plays tricks on me. Actually there wer no side efects listed for this one it is a Compassionate use drug. I am taking it with TMC 125 and norvir with, Kivexa. That is a great deal of medications but I have survived everything from AZT to the current regime and I have known for sure that I had HIV since 85 when my lover who died of AIDS told me that he had just been diagnosed.

Any thing that you can tell me qould be greatly appreciated.

Your profile doesn't state where you live.  If you are in the US, TMC-114 is marketed under the name Prezista, and was approved by the FDA a year ago so I don't know why you're falling under the "compassionate use" umbrella.  Maybe you live in a country where it's not yet approved?  The TMC-125 that you are on is the one not yet approved in the US, so I'm a bit confused.  I will assume you are non-US as you are calling Truvada by the name Kivexa.

Anyway, I've been on Prezista for 18 months now with remarkable results (in conjunction with Fuzeon, so it's hard to say which has done what, or if it's the synergy of the two which is more likely.  I also take Truvada aka Kivexa like you do).

At any rate, to answer your question about side effects from TMC-114/Prezista:  no, I've not experienced any side effects whatsoever.  Perhaps a very minimal amount of diarrhea, which is from the Norvir booster you have to take with it, but compared to PI's like Kaletra it's not even worth mentioning as bothersome.

This is BY FAR the very best PI I've ever taken.

How has your experience been with TMC-125?
