I have been on FUZEON for nearly one year. I have recently noticed a shortness of breath when I walk up my stairs(one flight) Has anyone had experience with any weird side effects with Fuzeon. Thank you kindly, Jeff

One of the mysteries of dealing with HIV is that it's so difficult to know what is causing a physical problem. Is it the HIV virus itself? Is it a side effect of the medication? Is it something completely unrelated to HIV?

If you're feeling shortness of breath whenever you engage in mild physical activity, you should have it checked out by your doctor to find out what the underlying problem is.

I've been on Fuzeon for 2.5 years. I haven't heard of shortness of breath being a side effect of Fuzeon.

Top (Breakfast): Prezista, Norvir, Isentress, Zoloft (2), Glyburide (2), Aspirin
Bottom right (Dinner): Prezista, Norvir, Isentress
Bottom left (Bedtime): Sustiva, Trazodone (2), Lipitor, Septra (no longer taking this)
Center: Alprazolam (Xanax)
Not shown: various vitamins & supplements

I have been on Fuzeon for three or four years ( I can't remember anything anymore...), I started on the T-20 study. I have had really bad injection site reactions, bruising, but nothing else. I would call your doctor. The shortness of breath should be checked out to make sure it is not something else.
Poz since '93. Currently on Procrit, Azithromax, Pentamidine, Valcyte, Levothyroxine, Zoloft, Epzicom, Prezista, Viread, Norvir, and GS-9137 study drug. As needed: Trazodone, Atavan, Diflucan, Zofran, Hydrocodone, Octreotide

Hey Jeff,

I agree that you should consult with your Doctor and see if there is something going on with your fatigue. It comes along with being HIV-positive.

Thanks all...I will see my DR on Friday. I have been approved for a study (FUZEON BIOJECTOR)  Supposedly it sprays the fuzeon in you so there are less bumps and pain etc. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

I use the Biojector - have never used a syringe to inject the Fuzeon.  ISRs are not a big problem, but it is not pain-free.  In fact, sometimes, well, about half the time,  it hurts like hell.  On the plus side, once you pull the trigger, there's no turning back, and it's over in about 2 seconds.  The spots I inject will often itch for a few hours, and sometimes I get a bruise about the size of a quarter, but I never have any nodules.
