she is if she's a fundamental Baptist  ::) LOL That's a very strict and unforgiving cut.

I'm surprised though that TN keeps having these kinds of stories reported out of that state (like the "don't say gay" legislator). These issues sound much more like somthing that would happen in SC or GA  ::)

Not quite as bad, but my high school civics teacher stated homosexuality was one of the primary causes of the downfall of civilizations.

I had a high school English teacher, Mr. Elliott, who said homosexuality caused the fall of the Roman Empire. I raised my hand and asked how. He looked put upon and said "It's obvious how". I said "I really don't understand" and he changed the subject. Mr. Elliott's comment inspired me to write in a different class a 30 page paper explaining the reasons for the decline of the Roman Empire, for which I received 100%.

I was an editor of my highschool newspaper.  Soon after DADT was put into law, I wrote an artice about it.  I printed up a survey asking students whether they thought soldiers should be able to serve openly.  Out of 1,800 students, I think I passed out about 300 surveys.  I can't remember the exact numbers, but a majority said they should be able to serve openly. 

Well, in front of the whole newspaper class, our newspaper/yearbook teacher said he believed I faked the results "to suit my own personal bias."  I was so angry and dropped every one of the surveys on his desk.  I really thought highly of him, but things changed after that.  Obviously, he didn't like the results and questioned my integrity in front of everyone--also implying I was gay.  That is the only anti-gay experience I can think of that happened with a school official.  That doesn't compare with what this principal did, so I made it through okay.
