Is it ever too late to begin anti-viral medication?

Could someone who has been positive for many years, and a couple of severe medical emergencies..begin medication and turn things around? Just wondering

But remember if at all possible, don't let an hiv diagnosis go unmonitored and get into such a situation.  HAART doesn't turn back time.

In the clock sense of time, NO, a person with many years or even a couple decades with HIV might still benefit beginning ARV therapy.

Does that mean each and every long-infected patient would benefit? No. Each person is distinct and medically complex.

My friend with 25 years POZ and no history of high viral suppression, reached "undetectable" about 2 years ago with a combo including Insentress. He is not a well person, but his HIV virus is finally under control.
