Moved to RI
« on: June 14, 2008, 11:57:30 pm »
hi.
i used to live in nyc. this week i got evicted and had to move back home to RI. i had to leave all my friends in NYC, and i miss them very much! i ask this half jokingly but half serious.. are there other gay people in RI? HIV poz people?
i have not worked since 2-2007 and used to volunteer at GMHC in NYC. i was on public assistance. i'm going to AIDS Project RI Monday for help with stuff.. but man i swear i'm the only gay poz person here. i forgot what it is like to be so alone and isolated. when i left RI in 1993 i was only gay; now i'm gay and poz. i cried so much wed when i left NYC. i never want to feel that again. my long term plan is to get back to NYC some how. i am staying with my mom and dad in pawtucket, RI. i was born and raised here but have not been home in 15 years so lost all contact with friends.

Ted -- that really sucks.  Sorry you're feeling so alone right now.  Hopefully, once you get a lay of the land, you'll find others like you (they ARE there, I'm sure of it).

You might also try POZ Personals -- I think you can search for other members in your area there:
