Title: Missing a days ARV
Post by: happydays76 on October 13, 2018, 03:35:14 am
Hi There,

I have recently been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS i have got a CD 4 of 7,
So that has led me to be receiving my treatment on a weekly bases,
Im 5 weeks in and just noticed that I am missing a days ARV as it is a bank holiday here in Thailand and the clinic where I receive my treatment is not open until Tuesday.

Monday morning I will not have any ARV left I cannot get in contact with my doctor, I am not panicking yet but my ARV requires a prescription,
So my plan is to go to a hospital but I dont know what to take with me and what to expect?

Does anyone have experience with replacing lost or missing ARV?

not specifically in Thailand but im also looking for advice in general because all being well I will hopefully return to my old job which requires a lot of traveling overseas.

I don't understand the connection between the CD4 count and collecting pills weekly. What treatment are you on? HIV meds generally are a months worth per bottle.

How is your VL looking ?

Well end of the day I hope you can get the replacement meds, if not than its not the end of the world skipping a day as long as it does not become a habit, again perhaps talk to the ID doctor on Tuesday about getting a longer prescription and were possible (If possible) renew or collect the next prescription a few days early so building up a small reserve
